Watch Who You Follow On Google Buzz

The security team over at Websense has released an alert dealing with spam on Google Buzz (and “thanks” to Websense for pointing this out).

Basically, this spammer has followed a couple hundred people and has used Google Buzz to send them to a page about smoking.

While this one may or may not be harmful, other links from others might lead to malicious content, so normal precautions need to be practiced when using Google Buzz:

* DON’T click on untrusted links.

Sounds simple, but it’s the simple things that can lead to complex problems.

Enjoy Google Buzz if you want (I know of many that are already using it), but remember to be a bit suspicious — and always be careful.
