As is my habit, I was cruising through my Gmail “spam” folder today when I came across this message:
Hello my dear. Hey, want to marry a Russian beauty? I want you, my good man. Come to my profile – you’ll get a surprise! You want what would you be good? Come to me.
(The link has been removed, for obvious reasons. At least I hope they are obvious!)
I can hear a woman saying that line in heavily accented English: “You want what would you be good?” I speak Polish, the domain name was registered in Estonia with a .ru email address, and the grammatical syntax of the translated statement follows the pattern of most Slavic languages. I somehow believe that this person could get me a Russian wife (which would probably not make my Polish wife all that happy…).
But since I sometimes like to chase nice, shiny spam to see what I can learn, I simply had to learn more about this one.
Sadly, the domain name has already been black holed (it resolves to “NS1.SUSPENDED-FOR.SPAM-AND-ABUSE.COM”), so I could not reach the web site to find out what kind of “surprise” awaited the visitor.
Quite disappointing because I’ve been working on my Schedule C for my income tax return and could have used a fun diversion.
Oh, well, left disappointed once again by a spammer…
